The BBC host says he likes the fact that the gruelling ordeal gives him a chance to ‘avoid Brexit’.
It’ll be a gruelling challenge unlike anything he’s done before.
There will be endless sweat, maybe a few tears – but hopefully no blood.
Yes, for Comic Relief, BBC breakfast host Dan Walker will be… sharing a tent with former MP Ed Balls.
The pair are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for the charity, and TV presenter Dan is understandably nervous.
“I think I might be sharing a tent with Mr Balls,” he notes.
“That could be some interesting night-time discussion. I’m going to Kilimanjaro to avoid Brexit . I have to do it every morning, so I hope there is not Brexit pillow talk.”
“There’s no toilets. I think there’s a couple of very rudimentary, Portaloo-type things that you take up there, but you wee on the way, poo off a cliff, and just have to get on with it for eight days.”
Celebs climbing the 19,340ft mountain later this month include Anita Rani, Shirley Ballas, Alexander Armstrong and Dani Dyer .
